Texas Butter will not sell, rent, or give away any of your personal information without your consent. In fact, we wouldn’t entertain such a request without a court ordered warrant. It is our strict policy that any personal information you provide to us is just that: personal and private. We do not presume that you are granting us permission to share your personal information with third parties wanting to sell you products or services that you have not requested.

Log Files

Like many other Web sites, Texas Butter makes use of log files. The information inside the log files includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, type of browser, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date/time stamp, referring/exit pages, and number of clicks to analyze trends, administer the site, track user’s movement around the site, and gather demographic information. IP addresses, and other such information are not linked to any information that is personally identifiable.

Cookies and Web Beacons

Texas Butter® does use a cookie to store information about visitors preferences, record user-specific information on which pages the user access or visit, customize Web page content based on visitors browser type or other information that the visitor sends via their browser. An example would be saving an address to expedite your next order faster.

3rd Party Connectivity

In order for search engines to take Texas Butter seriously we have to drop one of their files in our root directory to be “verified”. This file has meaningful purposes too because it also lets us see what the search engines are seeing. Normally called webmaster tool it might point out a page that’s broke or a search term that has nothing to do with our niche. This view will let us know to fix it and where on our site. The file has a lot of benefits like traffic coming in or out but we use it 95% of the time for “fix it”.

We have no chance ranking in search engines without the above “verified” file mentioned. There is a Google, Bing, and Yandex search engine file on our site. The links go to their instructions for site owners in a new window as and example what the “file” looks like.

At this time all social connectivity files like Facebook or Twitter have been removed to keep more from retaining your data. If you are on a device (phone/tablet) with their “app” installed, they are retaining your data from your side.

Next part is where it falls outside of our control. We know what the above search engines say they are doing collecting our visitors data. Do we believe it? Not really, just know every site you visit will have files that track honestly and some (mostly ADs) nefariously. If this sounds creepy you’d be half-ly right. EU’s GDPR Addendum (General Data Protection Regulation)

We are an American company. If the European Union wants to make more laws that’s their prerogative to cut off the non-compliers. The mentioned search engines from above “3rd party connectivity” have complied to GDPR which means they will purge collected data automatically (so they say).

We believe we protect your data better than multi layered laws the EU dream up. Really, GDPR doesn’t apply to us because we don’t compile and exploit massive amounts of data. Just wanted to footnote the craze.

Our law is simple, we don’t want to know where you came from nor where your going, but will need info to process your order.
